The Taliban have selected the new top of Afghanistan’s national bank.
Representative Zabihullah Mujahid told the Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) that Haji Mohammad Idris had been selected as the new legislative head of Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB).
This comes after Finance Ministry authorities declared that the national bank would continue activities soon.
Stores at Afghanistan’s national bank have been frozen since the Taliban took control, because of which the bank was shut too.
A senior Taliban official revealed to Reuters news office that Idris, from the northern territory of Jawzjan, had broad experience chipping away at monetary issues with the past head of the development, Mullah Akhtar Mansour, who was killed in a robot strike in 2016.
While Idris had no open profile outside the Taliban and no formal monetary preparing or advanced education, he was top of the development’s money area and regarded for his mastery, a senior Taliban pioneer said.
